2012 Flats & Handwashing Challenge ~ Day 2

Check out my thoughts from earlier this week:
Day 1

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You know you want this guy in your 2013 Calendar!
(Red Target Flour Sack Dishtowel w/ Snappi ~ Diaper Bag Fold)
Day 1 went pretty well. I tried to wash each diaper as I changed Jaron today, I remember last year that while it didn't take a ton of time, it took long enough to get everything washed each night. Doing things that way made my day a little choppier, but overall worked out quite well. I did end up washing 3 dipes and 2 covers at the end of the night.
I also think I might have found some new favorite flats. Up until now I have adored my Ikea burp cloths. They're absorbent and the prints are cute. But they're a bit thick and hard to wring out after washing.
Target flour sack dish towels. Are. The. Best. Thing. Ever. At least for now anyway. They're super thin and so easy to handwash and wring out. And they dry in about 30 minutes. And they are surprisingly absorbent, I think they're even better than my prefolds ~ and you can't beat the bright colors!
Since I haven't already mentioned it, I'll give you a run down of my stash/washing style for the week:
Diapers:
6 - Ikea Flats
6 - Target Flour Sack Dishtowels
1 - XL Tshirt
Covers:
1 - Diaper Rite Cover (while not my fav cover since it doesn't work well with a snappied diaper, in my opinion, but I've found that the KidCare workers at my gym like it with a pad folded flat, so that's there for them)
3 - Econobum Covers
Accessories:
2 - Snappis
1 - pair of old style Boingos
Handheld Showerhead
Washing:
EcoSprout Soap (Samples from The Great Cloth Diaper Change)
Rockin' Green Hard Rock
Sink for washing/soaking (It's easier on my back)
Bathtub for rinsing
Drying:
Clothesline on my screened in porch
Check out how Day 2 is going for everyone else in the challenge and take a look at how things went on Day 2 last year!
