Everything you do has a consequence, or, in some cases, many consequences. Some good. Some bad. It's part of life, so don't do the crime unless you're willing to do the time.
That was incredibly clear yesterday afternoon, when I got Jaron down for his afternoon nap and found out that Aedyn had decided to put himself down for a nap at the same time. They both woke up after about 20 minutes and in the process of getting Jaron back to sleep, Aedyn cuddled up net to us and dozed off again himself.
It is a very rare thing for me to have time when both boys are sleeping. So instead of waking Aedyn up and dealing with the cranky mess of temper tantrum I knew he would be, I enjoyed the quiet and got a few things done. I knew that the consequence of that decision would be that he wouldn't be ready to go to bed on time, so I wouldn't have my usual downtime or time to spend folding the mountains of clean laundry sitting around my house (but, hey, at least it's clean!) but I decided to enjoy the moment.
Can't beat the warm fuzzies that filled me up when I looked over and saw this...they both napped better than I've ever seen, I'm wondering about the safety of converting the toddler bed back to a crib and letting Aedyn sleep in there with Jaron all the time. Probably won't happen, but it's an idea...

That's such a beautiful and moving picture of your two boys! I try to stick to my daily schedule with my toddler, but sometimes, I've learned to be flexible and go with the flow. It's easier that way most of the time.
